A BILINGUAL PROGRAM
Featuring the Zentangle® Method

Abstract Ink Drawing is a bilingual, guided Wellness Program taught by Professional Artist and Certified Zentangle Teacher, Ileana Prosper Holman. Participants learn to create patterns and designs using the Zentangle® method to help calm the mind, enhance cognitive focus and spark creativity. The program is suitable for tweens, teens and adults, including seniors, and is available in both English and Spanish. No prior drawing experience is necessary. All supplies are provided for program use, however, participants are encouraged to purchase their own materials for an on-going practice.*
Not only does tangling help us relax while developing muscle memory, it also allows us to create dynamic abstract art intuitively.
NOTE: Drawing in ink helps promote a sense of peace by allowing the hand to move freely with the flow of the ink. Learning to create different patterns and designs builds muscle memory, which leads to an automatic flow and more pleasing results. Research shows that drawing can improve memory, boost creativity and reduce stress/anxiety.
*The Sakura Pigma Pen 05 or Sakura Pigma Micron PN (0.4 mm) is ideal for beginners as they have plastic nibs and are less sensitive to pressure. Both are permanent, fade-resistant and archival quality pens ideal for drawing. A more affordable option is the felt tip Sharpie Pen (0.4 mm). Smooth, medium-to-heavyweight paper, such as Bristol, works best for ink drawing but any paper that can handle the ink without buckling or bleeding will do. A graphite pencil is used for shading. Either a blending stump or tortillon can be used for blending, however, a Q-tip will work just fine.
